Millikin University junior catcher Alyssa Voegele had a big season both offensively and defensively in helping the Big Blue softball team go 32-12 overall, which included posting a 14-2 record en route to capturing the championship of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Voegele, a graduate of HHS, ranked in Millikin’s top five in numerous categories.
At the dish, she ranked first in slugging percentage (.527), home runs (six) and RBIs with 40, which was 14 more than her next highest teammate, and sacrifice flies (three). Voegele also placed second in doubles (nine), second in total bases (69), fourth in hits (40), fifth in batting average (.305), and fifth in on-base percentage (.377).
Behind the plate, the junior catcher has posted a .993 fielding percentage while gunning down 11 attempted base stealers and picking off another baserunner.
