Highland boy golfer wins age group at Midwest Qualifier

Jack Massa of Highland won the 12-13 age group at the Midwest Qualifier of Optimist International Junior Golf Championship at Red Tail Run Golf Club in Decatur.

Massa was tied for the lead after 36 holes and won on the second sudden death playoff hole. He is a member of Highland Country Club who also plays PGA Junior League Golf as well as for the Freedom golf team at Oak Brook with Mike Suhre.

The win qualifies Massa to play in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The Highland Optimists provide tournament fees for several Highland junior golfers for these events.
