The Highland High School boys golf team picked up two wins and one loss in quadrangle match Wednesday at the Legacy Golf Course in Granite City.
Edwardsville fired a scorching team score of 154 to handily win the match and stay undefeated in dual matches this season. Highland posted a respectable 172 to finish strongly n the second spot ahead of Triad and host Granite City, which tied for third place with matching team scores of 190.
Although Highland took its first loss in a dual match this season, the two wins still boosted the Bulldogs’ dual-match record to 7-1.
Then on Thursday at Tamarack Country Club in O’Fallon, the Bulldogs dropped a triangle match to the host Panthers and Triad to dip to 7-3.

On Wednesday, Edwardsville had four juniors all finish within one shot of each other and claim the top three individual positions outright. In addition, The Tigers’ final scorer tied for fourth best.
Leading the way for Edwardsville was Tanner White, who took medalist honors with a 1-over-par 37. Ben Terrill and Jon Ratterman finished right behind White with rounds of 38 and 39, respectively.
Highland junior Brandon Munie shot a solid round of 4-over 40 to share fourth place with Tiger junior Tanner White.
Also turning in scores for the Bulldogs were junior Ben Brauns (43), junior Stephen Schniers (43) and senior Braden Rehkemper (46).
Nick Bryan led Triad with a 46. Also scoring for the Knights were Chris Lambert (47), Cameron Lambert (48) and Tyler Flesher (49).
For Granite City, Drew Wielgus, Riley Brown and Grant Beanland each shot 46 while Cameron Rubenacker had a 52.
On Thursday in the triangle match at Tamarack, the host O’Fallon Panthers shot an impressive team score of 157 while Triad shot a 173 to edge Highland (174) by one stroke.
Munie again led the Bulldogs, this time with a quality round of 39.
Also posting scores for Highland were Brauns (44), Schniers (45) and Rehkemper (46).
