Fifteen applicants are seeking to fill an O’Fallon School District 90 school board seat, after board member Chris Pulcher resigned for personal reasons.
The board accepted Pulcher’s resignation several weeks ago.
The school board plans to conduct interviews next week on Sept. 14 and/or 15.
They hope to fill the vacancy at its Sept. 20 meeting.
Pulcher had served on the school board for the past 3 1/2 years.
He cited in his letter of resignation that “his personal and work life have made it very difficult to fulfill” his obligation to the district.
“I felt it best to have someone during the school year, able to be there on a more regular basis,” he said.
Pulcher had chaired the board’s policy committee and served on the building committee.
Deadline for submitting application was Friday.
Pulcher’s term was due to expire in April 2017.
