Fight hunger by donating to your local food pantry

Dear Editor,

The O’Fallon Community Food Pantry, serving residents of O’Fallon and Shiloh, requests your support of the upcoming “Scouting for Food” Drive this Saturday, 19 Nov., with generous food donations. As in years past, Scouts, parents, and volunteers from around the area distributed donation bags on doorsteps last weekend. On Saturday, Nov. 19, please place non-perishable food items in those bags and place them outside your front door by 9:00 a.m. Scouts will be by, rain or shine, to collect donations and deliver them to local food pantries.

So far in 2016, the O’Fallon Community Food Pantry has filled an average of 320 family requests for food per month. Please join us in the fight against hunger by filling a bag with nutritious food donations such as canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned soup, canned meats, pasta, rice and cereal.

We appreciate our community for its generous support, enabling our food pantry to help local families in need.
