CrossFit Voyage will hold a fundraiser for a case of infantile spasms at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 16.
People can register at https//:mightymarek.eventbrite.com.
Marek Harres, affectionately known as Mighty Marek, was diagnosed with infantile spasms in January 2015. Infantile spasms are seizures seen in infancy and childhood characterized by spasms and developmental regression. Mighty Marek stopped meeting normal developmental milestones at 4 months old and stopped progressing developmentally at approximately 5 months.
Three medications exist to reduce the sometimes 30-minute spasms. Mighty Marek has tried and failed two out of the three medicines. He has recently started the third medication; though the financial burden of providing this necessary medication has become heavy for Marek’s parents, Krysten and Ryan Harres.
