The OTHS boys track squad opened their competitive season last Friday in the Principia Indoor meet hosted by Edwardsville High School.
No team results were recorded for the event; however, the Panther tracksters posted several performances in their initial outing for the spring, collecting a total of five medals.
Topping the list of Panther athletes was high jumper Aaron Smith, who collected O’Fallon’s only first place finish. Smith soared past the competition, clearing the bar at 6-feet, 6 inches to claim the meet title.
The O’Fallon squad picked up three second place finishes—one in the 1,600 and the other two in relay events. Standout senior cross country runner Dorrian Gordon began his spring campaign on a positive note with a second place medal in the 1,600.
