Spotlight on Education: Hagemann, Larimer students of month for March

O’Fallon Township High School seniors Kayla Hagemann and Jack Larimer have been chosen students of the month for March.

Each was selected for the honor based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities and community involvement.

Hagemann, 17, is the daughter of Janet and Charles Frasher. Her school activities include HANDS (Helping and Nurturing the Diversity of Students) founder and president; Friends of Rachel (FOR) Club student leader; Wellness Club; varsity tennis; special education tutor; academic tutor; National Honor Society; Spanish Honor Society; AP chemistry lab assistant; “Blizzard” freshman orientation student leader; and Illinois Outstanding Scholar.

Hagemann’s community involvement includes Greater Belleville Area Female Youth Leader of the Year (sponsored by National Council on Youth Leadership); social skills model/tutor for youth with special needs; and sales associate at Old Navy Retailer.

Larimer, 17, is the son of Mike and Beth Larimer. Hi school activities include President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes; officer in HOPE (bi-annual retreat to help eliminate stereotypes in high school); student council representative; National Honor Society; Spanish Honor Society; Robotics Club; speech team; and cross country.

Larimer’s community involvement includes service as a St. Nicholas youth group leader; leader at Sunday masses and member of liturgy committee; member of FCA student board; chief of the Metro East Lodge Tribe; leader in Luke 18; and summer camp counselor at Camp Ondessonk.
