MAY 19

CENTENNIAL SPRING FLING

The Spring Fling at Scott will take place May 19. The event will have a baseball theme and take place from 3-7 p.m. The afternoon activities will include, a sling shot competition with trophies presented to the winners, music, and family friendly activities such as bounce houses. Attendees also will enjoy a biergarten, and the following food trucks will be on site: Sweet Divine Cupcakes, Syberg’s, General Sherman’s, Joe’s Asian, and Slide Piece. POCs: 1s Lt. Kyle McDonald and Master Sgt. Jennifer Lyon.

MAY 20

AMERICA’S ARMED FORCES KIDS RUN

Run for Fun at America’s Armed Forces Kids Run on May 20 with Youth Programs. Families must register on-line for this event at www.americaskidsrun.org. Scheduled run times for participants is as follows:

▪ 5-6 years: 10 a.m. (1/4 mile);

▪ 7-8 years: 9:30 a.m. (1/2 mile);

▪ 9-12 years: 9 a.m. (1 mile); and

▪ 13 years & up: 8 a.m. (2 miles).

Parents may accompany their child in the younger age groups. All runners will be given a commemorative America’s Kids Run T-shirt, as well as awarded placement ribbons.

Runners are required to show up 15 minutes before scheduled run time.

Races begin/end at the Youth Center. Event is free to all registered participants. For more info, call 256-5139.

TEXAS HOLD’EM

Shuffle up and deal and visit the Scott Event Center on May 20 for a Texas Hold’em Tournament. Enjoy a pre-game social at 5 p.m. with assorted hors d’oeuvres and drink specials, followed by tournament play at 6 p.m. Free entry to first 10 Airmen to register. Fees: Members, $9 (play & eat); non-members, $15 (play and eat). Play limited to first 60 players. Registration required. Prizes to be awarded. Interested players can call 256-5501 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday.

MAY 23

CALLING ALL GOLFERS

The Scott Sandlot Softball 1st Annual Golf Tournament will be May 23 at Cardinal Creek Golf Course. 11 a.m. shotgun Start. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. $50 Per person—4 person team best ball scramble. Cost includes: Green fees and cart. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last place winners. Driver for long drive, and a putter for closest to the pin. Mulligan/string package $20 per team. All skill levels are welcome. For details, call Craig Thompson at (719) 659-3455.
