Scott Air Force Base kicked off spring with the annual Spring Fling on May 19. It gave members a chance to celebrate the base’s centennial anniversary with a day of baseball-themed activities, in an effort to enhance comprehensive Airman fitness.
The event, which took place at the Scott Event Center, consisted of a whiffle ball home run derby, a speed pitch contest using a radar gun, and a unit slingshot competition. The Spring Fling also included children-friendly activities, such as face painting, a bounce house and other games.
