Hear Ye, Hear Ye ... join Outdoor Recreation for their Robin Hood Shoot-out Clinic, Tournament & Chili Cook-Off from 2-6 p.m. March 3 at the Archery Range. People must preregister by Feb. 16. Try the special family archery clinic for only $8/person (ages 8+) with all supplies provided. Compete in the archery tournament for just $10/person (ages 16+). For this event, people must bring their own gear. Participants can also enter the Chili Cook-Off.

Teams of two can enter the contest for $10/team. Adult beverages are also available via a cash bar/tent. *Renaissance Era clothing highly encouraged. Preregistration is required. Take part in a teen art/paint night from 7-9 p.m. Feb. 16 at Youth Programs. Class is free and open to teens ages 12-18. While enjoying snacks, all visual art activities focus on teaching the elements and principles of design, and encouraging the development of skills for a lifetime. Experience the St. Louis Zoo like never before—overnight. Bring the family for this moonlight exploration at the St. Louis Zoo. This will take place from 3 p.m. Feb. 18 to 1 p.m. Feb. 19. Night includes a fun-filled educational program, flashlight zoo tour, Nutrition Center tour, petting zoo access—plus sleep next to the animals in an exhibit. Dinner and breakfast included. Overnight gear and toiletries not included.

▪ RecOn eligible: Open to AF Active Duty/Reservists and their dependents. SAFB must be duty station for non-AF service members. A person eligible for RecOn can bring one person for same price while spots available; and

▪ RecOn rate: $12. Normal rate: $82.

In observance of the President’s Day holiday Feb. 19, many of the 375th Force Support Squadron facilities will have altered hours of operation. Special hours of operation are as follows:

▪ Cardinal Creek Golf Course: Course and Pro Shop open;

▪ Cardinal Creek Golf Course Café: Closed;

▪ Education & Training Office: Closed Feb. 19; however, some on-base college/university classes all will be held as originally scheduled;

▪ Fitness Center: Closed (open to authorized after-hours access);

▪ James Sports Center: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.;

▪ Nightingale Inn Dining Facility: Open 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 4-6 p.m.; Grab-n-Go open 6-8 p.m.; and

▪ Stars & Strikes Bowling Center: Open.

The remaining FSS facilities will be closed (Airman & Family Readiness Center, Arts & Crafts Center, Child Development Centers, Civilian Personnel, Common Grounds, Family Child Care Office, ITT, Library, Marketing, Military Personnel Section, NAF Accounting, NAF HRO, Outdoor Recreation, Rickenbacker's, Scott Event Center/Zeppelins and Youth Center). As the winner of NBC’s hit TV show “Phenomenon,” Mike Super is the only magician in history to win a live magic competition on prime-time U.S. network television and voted “America’s Favorite Mystifier.” Super is also a top finalist on NBC's No. 1 rated summer series “America’s Got Talent.” The Scott AFB population will have the opportunity to see Mike Super Live on Feb. 20 at the Library Auditorium. Start the spring season right and join the Cardinal Creek Golf Course and Stars & Strikes Bowling Center on Feb. 21 for their 2018 Spring Mixer Open House. The fun begins at 4 p.m. at Cardinal Creek Golf Course. Take advantage of this free social event and learn about all the great programs at the golf course and bowling center such as Annual Greens Fee memberships, golf and bowling leagues, outings, lessons and golf tournaments. New for 2018, is the Loyalty Rewards Program and continued AGF Referral Program for current AGF Members. The event will include attendance prize drawings plus other prize giveaways.

Patrons who purchase or have purchased or renewed a 2018 Annual Greens Fee membership by 8 p.m. that day will be entered in the $250 gift card prize drawing. Any organization that “books” or has “booked” a golf outing by 8 p.m. that night will be entered for a $500 outing credit to be used for prizes, golf, food, etc. This event is open to everyone, so invite friends and neighbors to come out. Teens looking for money saving tips to better their future should join Youth Programs for their free Military Teens Saves lecture from 4-6 p.m. Feb. 23. Students will get the opportunity to participate in a hands-on event that takes them through the personal financial management process, including career selection, budgeting for housing, transportation, luxuries and more. People can test their limits with Outdoor Recreation’s Army veteran staff on a unique team building trip to the Illinois National Guard Training Center from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10-11 in Marseilles, Ill.

Preregistration required by March 1. People can run through the obstacle course, dare to cross the one-person rope bridge and test their fears on the 40 foot rappel tower led by Scott AFB’s own Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape team. People will also hike at Starved Rock State Park, then grab food and drinks (individual’s cost) at the Starved Rock Lodge and Brewery.

Rate is $63/person, and this is open to ages 18+ in Active Duty Air Force, National Guard or Reservists only (limited to 20 people). Recommendation and sponsorship by leadership is highly recommended. For more information, call 256-2067.
