Benton hospital reopened after bomb threats prompt evacuation

A hospital in Benton was evacuated after two bomb threats were called in Sunday evening.

The calls came at 5:13 p.m. and 5:16 p.m., according to the Benton Fire Department.

Franklin Hospital and a nursing facility next door were evacuated over the course of an hour.

The threat caused the hospital to go on diversion status, according to the hospital’s Facebook page.

As of 9 p.m., a bomb squad still had yet to complete an inspection of the building.

Around 10 p.m., the hospital reopened.
