A 19-year-old Belleville man was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison following his conviction in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in 2013.

In July 2013, Thomas D. Flakes approached a man on North 14th Street in Belleville, told him he was armed and robbed him of all the cash he had. He was charged in the case in February, 2014.

Court records show a summer 2013 residential burglary case against Flakes is still pending. Two armed robbery charges, two armed home invasion charges and an aggravated cruelty to animals charge have been dismissed.
