East St. Louis man becomes city’s fourth homicide victim

A 22-year old East St. Louis man was found shot to death, his body found about 10:45 p.m. Sunday lying in the street in the 500 block of Wimmer Place, police said.

Police Chief Michael Floore identified the victim as Keon Logan, of East St. Louis.

“We received a call reporting shots fired, man down. When police arrived on the scene, they located a victim’s body laying in the middle of the street. He appeared to have been shot in the head,“ Floore said.

Police have no motive for the shooting and no weapon was recovered. This is the city’s fourth homicide this year.

East St. Louis police and Illinois State Police are investigating the homicide.
