Three people were arrested Friday morning in the wake of a drug raid in State Park Place, near Collinsville.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department Drug Tactical Unit led a raid on a home at 8505 Cole St. The operation started at about 7:30 a.m. and involved more than a dozen officers and the county’s armored vehicle.
“Our drug unit has been investigating this residence for about three weeks,” St. Clair County Sheriff’s Dept. Lt. Kurt Eversman said. “It was a meth operation.”
Eversman said the drug was being sold from the residence but not manufactured there.

Investigators did not release the names of the suspects, pending the filing of formal charges.
Eversman said the investigation is ongoing. But he expects to ask St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly for charges later Friday or on Saturday.
Investigators would not say how much meth was found at the search site or discuss any other evidence.
Neighbors told the News-Democrat they thought there might have been a standoff at the scene. But, Eversman said, despite the appearance of the armored vehicle, which is often used in standoff situations, there was no resistance. He called the search “routine.”
