Men charged with stealing motorcycles, vandalizing vacant home in rural Belleville

Four people now face charges alleging that they stole motorcycles and vandalized a vacant home in Belleville.

The four people are accused of burglary and theft of motorcycles from the Belleville Enduro Team property on Mine Haul Road outside Belleville on Jan. 22, and for vandalizing the interior of a vacant house in rural Belleville on the same day, according to a release from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department.

The three men were charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony; theft over $500, a Class 3 felony; and criminal damage totaling more than $500, a Class 4 felony. The men are: Brandon J. Shield, 20, of Belleville; Cody J. Sale, 21, of Belleville; and Christopher P. Reese, 20, of Belleville. Sale and Reese were held on $30,000 bail; Shield was held on $25,000 bail.

Also charged was Emily Strubberg, 19, of Belleville, who is only charged with criminal damage to property and is held on $25,000 bail. All four were in custody in the St. Clair County Jail as of Friday afternoon.
