A man who told police he was shot in East St. Louis sought help at a St. Louis McDonald’s, but details remained sketchy, according to news reports.
The man told police he was in a car with a woman and stopped at a stop sign in East St. Louis when three men approached the car and opened fire, hitting the man in the hand, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The man then fled, stopping somewhere along the way to let out the woman, who did not want to be involved, the Post-Dispatch reported. The man ended up at the McDonald’s at North Tucker Boulevard and Carr Street, and was taken to a hospital. Police told the Post-Dispatch he was “uncooperative.”
The incident was being investigated by St. Louis police and the Illinois State Police.
