A Missouri man has now been charged with possession of child pornography in an ongoing Belleville investigation.

Earl Rice, 59, of Dittmer, Missouri has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography of a victim under age 18, a Class 1 felony. He was arrested by Belleville police in what police said is a continuing investigation.

“There are no other known victims at this time,” police said in a statement released on social media. “We understand the sensitive nature of these types of cases, and must respect the privacy of the victims’ families while balancing our duty to ensure public safety.”

The police statement indicated no further information would be released about the victims. However, they asked that if any child has had contact with Rice, they urge the parents to speak to their children and report any suspicious behavior to the local police department.

Rice is in custody on $75,000 bail.
