Man stole 'several hundred dollars' of property from Wood River residents, police say

Wood River Police arrested a 36-year-old man Monday who they say burglarized of houses in the area.

Brian N. Pratt of Whitelaw Avenue in Wood River was arrested after police received a call of a suspicious man walking in an alley looking into a car, according to a press release from Wood River Police.

Two officers said they found Pratt in the alley and believe he had stolen property in his possession. They also said he had stashed other reportedly stolen items from cars and a garage in another location, according to a press release.

Police recovered several hundred dollars worth of property they say Pratt stole from owners in the 300 block of Pershing Avenue and the 400 block of Grand Avenue.

Pratt is in custody with a bail of $60,000, the release said.
