Teen boy arrested, charged with making school threats in Southern Illinois

Jefferson County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested a boy accused of making threats against his school.

The 13-year-old boy allegedly made a threat on social media Saturday to shoot the school in rural Jefferson County on Monday. According to WSIL-TV, the boy was arrested within hours and taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.

Chief Deputy Clint Taylor told WJBD Radio that the boy was in custody Saturday night and charged with class X felony terrorist threats.
