Man’s head grazed by bullet after arguing with a woman at a gas station, police say

A man was grazed in the head by a bullet after he got in an argument with a woman at a gas station Thursday morning.

East St. Louis Police Chief Jerry Simon said the call came in at 9:55 a.m.

When police arrived at 2501 Louisiana Blvd, they met with a 51-year-old man who had an argument with a woman and another man. During the argument, the woman hit one of the men, Simon said.

“He hit her back with a stick. A gray car pulled up, a black male got out, pulled out a gun and shot in the air and then shot at him,” Simon said.

The man’s head began to bleed bullet grazed him.

Simon said neither the man nor the shooter have been identified.
