For the fourth time in a month, a suspicious fire has destroyed a residence in a neighborhood near East St. Louis.

A home at 6901 Delmonte Street burned to the ground at about 3 a.m. Thursday, according to fire department reports.

A short time after French Village Fire Department firefighters arrived at the scene they called for the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office to conduct an investigation of the suspicious blaze.
