Here’s where you can stream ‘Black Bird’ and more on the Midwest cases that inspired it
Cold-case murders from the 90s are receiving renewed attention with the debut of a new series focused on inmate Larry Hall, who confessed to raping and killing multiple women in the Midwest.
Hall was sentenced to life in prison for Jessica Roach’s 1993 abduction from Georgetown, Ill.
Roach, 15, was riding her bike when Hall kidnapped her. A jury convicted him of transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of sex. Physical evidence to support a murder conviction was reportedly not available.
The new series follows James “Jimmy” Keene as he is tasked with eliciting confessions from Hall about other rapes and murders. Some of the murders Hall has been implicated in remain unsolved to this day, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
He has not been convicted of murder in any case to date.
