Caseyville woman accused of kicking cop in groin

A Caseyville woman has been charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer after she allegedly kicked a cop in the groin.

Rosalba Sotelo was breaking windows out of a home in the 200 block of Bernice Street in Caseyville and had vandalized a car, according to police reports when an officer attempted to arrest her. She was charged Sunday, according to St. Clair County court records.

Police said Sotelo kicked a responding officer in the groin as he tried to arrest her.

In addition to the aggravated battery charge, she was charged with two counts of criminal damage to property less than $300. She was jailed on $25,000 bail.
