Police tape surrounded the Casey’s General Store Tuesday morning in Meadowbrook, following a robbery at the store Monday night.

According to Madison County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Capt. T. Mike Dixon, the business at 5256 Illinois 140 in northern Madison County was robbed at about 11:33 p.m. Monday.

Dixon said two suspects, whose faces were covered, entered the store, showed black, semi-automatic handguns and announced the robbery. One of the suspects watched the door while the other confronted the clerk.

The suspects ran off with an amount of cash that was not released by police.

One suspect was described as a young male of unknown race. He was estimated to be between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8. This suspect was wearing a white mask, black hoodie with an Asian symbol on the front, black jeans and black and white shoes.

The other suspect was described as a young white male with shaggy brown hair. He was wearing a blue bandana covering his nose and mouth and all-black clothing and shoes with black glasses.

Both suspects were estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old and 130-150 pounds.
