Althoff Catholic High School students will soon receive athletic training and other health care services through a new partnership with HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
The school announced that it would partner with the hospital in a recent blog post.
Althoff student athletes will have access to the hospital’s Athletes Advantage Program, and the school’s new outdoor athletic complex and gymnasium will feature advertising for St. Elizabeth’s as part of the partnership. The advertising will also be present in the school’s new lab focused on science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and math.
Work on the athletic complex and lab will begin when Althoff reaches its fundraising goal and gets final approval from the Diocese of Belleville.

Medical professionals from St. Elizabeth’s also plan to visit the school to talk to students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
By the end of 2017, the new St. Elizabeth’s hospital will be completed and open in O’Fallon. But it will continue working with Althoff in Belleville for the next five years. St. Elizabeth’s hospital CEO and President Peg Sebastian said the hospital is proud of the partnership with the Catholic school that benefits both institutions.
“It is also important to HSHS St. Elizabeth’s that we continue to be impactful and supportive of the Belleville community,” Sebastian said in a submitted statement.
