Free school supplies, dental exams, physicals offered at back-to-school event

An upcoming back-to-school event is promising free dental exams and school physicals, as well as backpacks full of school supplies for the students who attend.

The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce’s Back to School Fun Fair is scheduled for Aug. 2. It will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Belleville West High School, 4063 Frank Scott Parkway West, according to the event’s Facebook page. Admission is free.

The event is open to families of children in kindergarten through eighth-grade at participating schools, including:

▪  Belleville District 118 schools

▪  Belle Valley District 119 schools

▪  Blessed Sacrament Catholic School

▪  Governor French Academy

▪  Harmony-Emge District 175 schools

▪  Menta Academy

▪  Notre Dame Academy

▪  Our Lady Queen of Peace School

▪  Signal Hill Elementary School

▪  Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School

▪  St. Teresa Catholic School

▪  Whiteside District 115 schools

▪  Zion Lutheran School

The event will also feature free hot dogs, chips and drinks, games, face painting and vendors offering giveaways.
