Fire officials say a father and son died in a fire in rural Cass County.
The Cass County sheriff's office said in a news release the fire was reported last week near Strasburg. The sheriff identified the victims Monday as 78-year-old James Garrett and his son, 50-year-old Dennis Garrett, both of Strasburg.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
First responders found a single wide trailer engulfed in flames when they arrived at the site early Friday.

One person was able to escape the fire. The two victims died inside the trailer.
