Letters to the Editor

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say what a wonderful hospital Memorial East in Shiloh is. My husband was taken there, and from the time I saw the well laid out parking lot I was impressed. All the entrances are marked clearly and easy to find.

Everyone from the nursing staff, house keepers, dietary and security were friendly, courteous and very helpful in making my husband’s stay as comfortable as possible. We were impressed with how clean and very well laid out it was. Whoever designed the layout of the patient rooms did an excellent job. All the rooms are private with big picture windows and they even have a couch for extra seating.

I worked as a nurse for 27 years and I was impressed with the small “peek-a-boo” window in the room with blinds. When the patient is sleeping they do not have to be disturbed. The nurse can look through the window to check on them. Great idea.

So I just wanted to say for a hospital stay it was a pleasant experience. I hope some of the people working there or all of them read this. Job well done.
