American health care in hockey terms

A hockey analogy might help clarify the liberal position on health care in America.

Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives recently scored a goal by passing the American Health Care Act.

Rather than respond in kind by advancing the puck down the ice toward the opponent’s goal, Congressional Democrats appear content to just circle around in their own end of the rink. Apparently they’re satisfied to just defend their net and focus on stopping the GOP from further scoring.

Most Americans agree that Obamacare has major flaws and will sooner rather than later collapse under its own weight. How effective can the Democratic strategy be when they’re down 0-1 yet refuse to try to score?

Their strategy is doomed to defeat, taking the American people down with them. Their antics illustrate that Democrats have lost sight of the goal – better health care for all Americans. Instead of trying to beat ‘em, they need to join ‘em.
