The Metro St. Louis Area was treated to a great event on June 10 and 11, with the flawlessly run Scott Air Show. I have been to a number of these in years past, here and elsewhere, but none compared to this one for its quality and efficiency. The first pleasant surprise was, although my parking spot was a long way from the flight line, the available shuttle bus service more than made up for the distance as it took us almost all the way.
Our nation can be justly proud of the young men and women who serve in our Air Force today. They were out in force that weekend and performed their duties in a totally professional manner. They were smiling, helpful and had answers to most questions. I also wish to complement the Scott AFB leadership of commanders and senior NCOs whose planning and execution made for an exceptional Air Show. I would be remiss if I did not also acknowledge the aircrews, of all the various aircraft, with their friendly and courteous question-answering efforts. Last but not least a big thank you must go out to all our local law enforcement services, who were there in great force, to ensure a safe and secure activity for everyone attending.
