Fly our flag proudly

There was an article in the paper recently that a student group from the University of California, Irvine, has voted to ban the American flag from its lobby. The group stated the flag could symbolize American “exceptionalism and superiority.”

God help us, as a nation, if this is allowed to happen. What does it say about us, as a nation, when we can’t freely (and proudly) fly our own country’s flag?

I find this particularly offensive, as I have a son about to enter the military.
