We were very upset when we read the flier from Belleville Ward 3 alderman candidate Dennis Knepper regarding his opponent Scott Tyler. It is obvious that Knepper is just another of the mayor’s puppets and is only running for office to keep the mayor and his “yes” men in control. Anyone who knows Tyler knows what a fine, upstanding person he is.
Knepper states that Tyler is “plotting” his future so that he can retire and receive two pensions. Scott is a Belleville firefighter and deserves his city pension when he retires, and if elected as alderman of Ward 3, you can be sure he will serve us well and will deserve that pension too.
We live in the same neighborhood as Scott, and like us, he is fed up with the lack of response to our needs and concerns. I have lived in the same house for 23 years and have yet to meet any of our aldermen. If Knepper is so concerned about Ward 3, why hasn’t he knocked on doors in our neighborhood and introduced himself? Was it easier to mail a flier attacking his opponent than to actually go out and meet the people and address their concerns?
Regarding the topic of pensions, Knepper works two jobs; would the pension he received as alderman not make him a triple dipper?

I know Scott is the best choice and will take an active part in this ward. It’s time we elect someone who isn’t part of the political machine.
