Letters to the Editor

Just pick three lies

In a recent letter to the BND, Gene Robke stated there were 935 documented lies about 9/11 and Iraq told by the Bush White House. I’m asking Robke to select three, let’s say lies 74, 189 and 757 (my favorite airliner) and let us BND readers know what they are and the source he uses. I think that is fair. Or he can pick the numbers of three of his favorite Cardinal players and use them instead.

Also, to be accurate, according to a very well-documented Wikipedia article, there were 4,491 U.S. service members killed in action in Iraq from 2003 to 2010, not 6,000.

As a retired military officer, I very much understand that every combat death is a tragedy, but accuracy is important in making your case.
