Thankful for a decade of help

Congratulations to all the people that have helped me out in the past 10 years. It is hard for me to believe that my life changed 10 years ago on April 22, 2005.

I was coaching at a track meet at East St. Louis Senior High School Clyde Jordan Stadium when I was injured in a fall from the steps of the bleachers.

I was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville. I was there for one month after having surgery on the torn tendons in my knees. I was taken to Willowcreek Rehab and Nursing Center in Belleville for therapy.

Later I would have Helping Hand to take me to Fairview Heights for two to five hours of therapy every day.

After missing a year and a half of teaching, I was able to go back to teaching and coaching at Nelson Mandela School in East St. Louis.

I now have a house that is handicapped wheelchair accessible.
