The towel. First one would think of the kitchen towel or bath towel, but not this towel. Have you ever watched a boxing match? Well I’ve only seen them on TV and this towel has a connection with boxing. The connection is very important to the sport of boxing and other sports; however, some of them are called flags,. Oh, well.
Let’s get to the point. April 7 was voting day here, but you wouldn’t know it for all the towels that were thrown in. What kind of an example are we sending the rest of the world? You threw in the towel if you did not vote.
In boxing and some other sports, the manager, coach or referee may throw in the towel to stop the fight or to stop the game, to protect the players. This a good thing and should be done. But when a voter throws in the towel it does not stop the game nor does it protect the citizens, it just says “game on.”
Are you going to pick up that towel, wipe off your hands and go to the ballot box and vote the next time? Or are you going to continue throwing in the towel? Giving up is not an option.
