A mentor to many

Concerning Richard “R.J.” Krause, I first met R.J. 50 years ago when I refereed the first game he ever coached. At that time, I remembered R.J. as just an ordinary young man. As we both got older, I realized what a dedicated individual he was to the youth of East St. Louis.

I will miss R.J., but the people of East St. Louis whom he dedicated his life to are the ones who will lose out the most.

R.J. touched thousands of lives and if he had lived longer, he would have touched thousands more. He was truly a mentor to the youth of East St. Louis. He will be sadly missed.
