Thanks for the food

Fairview Heights Area Food Pantry was again blessed with more than 3,000 items for the Postal Carriers Food Drive held on May 9. Thank you to each resident who placed items by their mailbox. Our pantry could not continue without their very important donations.

Thank you to the drivers who picked up all those items and delivered them to our pantry. We know that this day is important to them but also an added burden to their day. We really appreciate their efforts for the community.

We also wish to thank those volunteers who helped us sort and shelve each item received. They gave of their time on an already busy day. Thanks to everyone for their support. These efforts keep our community strong.

I would urge people to please remember to continue to support their local pantries during the coming year. Due to the inclement weather this year, we would be happy and grateful for any additional food items. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Board member, Fairview Heights Area Food Pantry
