I was quite upset with the editorial, “Keep spending in classrooms,” that appeared in the May 21 edition of the BND.
We did not rush into the Belleville High School District 201 board meeting as the paper implied. It was a cordial and very relaxed setting and those of us who spoke expressing our views were treated very cordially.
We were not misguided as the paper stated. We were fully aware that the proposals had been tabled several days before the board meeting.
We were concerned about the sports programs at both the East and West campuses. As my grandfather told me many years ago, pardon the English, “If it ain’t broke, don’t mess with it.”
