I suppose I should not be surprised by the lack of intelligence and the manipulation of facts by conservatives; 30 percent of the public still supported Richard Nixon on the day he resigned. But when they try to forget that President Obama saved the country from financial collapse caused by the 40 percent increase in the national debit and the felonious manipulation of our banking industry, they cross the line.
I don’t care what the United Nations voted on or about; the weapons of mass destruction were not chemical weapons, they were supposedly atomic. When industrial tubes began to look like missiles and England told us they had Yellow Cake uranium from Africa, we bought it because President Bush and Vice President Cheney wanted the war anyway. Never mind the British were wrong again. But it cost thousands of lives and embarrassed Secretary of State Colin Powell, who resigned.
Additionally, how the war was handled by the State Department was hugely stupid. They arrested and disbanded the Iraqi army, who would have been glad to help. They ignored the historic conflict between the Shiite and Sunni Muslims and that is the cause of ISIS.
The cause of all wars is money. Only those who will make money, like Cheney’s Halliburton and Blackwater, love them. Sounds outrageous? Sorry, these are the facts.
We are not the world police and need to stay out of these conflicts.
