Letters to the Editor

Richest doesn’t mean best

Often our politicians tell us that we are the richest nation in the world.

Last week there was an article in the BND about a letter carrier who saved two elderly people’s lives. This brought to mind a trip we made to Scandinavia. We were told that in Sweden the elderly can sign up at their post office and the mailman will then check in on them every day. Can you imagine our post office employees doing the same thing?

But we are the richest nation in the world. How can those poor people in Sweden receive such a benefit?
