Their children, our taxes

I recently received my real estate tax bill and I am still puzzled by the $2,300 we pay to the school district.

I have no kids in school, nor have I ever. But I am paying for the school to provide breakfast to students.

Why not provide overnight accommodations? Or let me eat breakfast there.

These kids certainly are not malnourished; there is a childhood obesity problem here.

The parents are chowing down on fast food and getting tattoos while I am feeding their kids.

Maybe we should cut out this program and reduce the superintendents’ salary. It probably would not affect my tax bill but it’s worth a try.
