Unresolved issues

After terminating a friendship with an old acquaintance, I was hit with a barrage of harassing phone calls including one threatening to burn down my cabin in the country.

Thinking rationally, I made a report to the Belleville Police Department. Eight months later, I received a notice to appear at the St. Clair County courthouse.

To make a long story short, he was a no show, I missed work and no one could tell me anything. So, eventually, I left thinking they must have bigger fish to fry. But, I can’t help feeling betrayed by our system for leaving this case unresolved. Doing so leaves both parties at risk of suffering dire consequences in the future.
