Texas Gov. Rick Perry launched an aggressive and impressive presidential campaign as he led off with a punch. He wasted no time in cutting down the Obama administration and he came across talking sense. Perry also has an impressive background of qualifying credentials, especially unlike any Democrat in the presidential race.
Perry is one of only two current presidential candidates who ever served in the military. That in itself is a big plus, especially in light of the inept military commander in chief that we now have.
Perry dealt with the problem of border security unlike President Obama ever did. Perry deployed National Guard troops to the Texas border with Mexico to stem the tide of drug smugglers and unaccompanied children from Central America into this country. In other words, what Obama did not do for the United States, Perry did for Texas.
During a speech, Perry said: “We are a resilient country. We’ve been through two World Wars, the Great Depression and we even made it through Jimmy Carter. We will make it through the Obama years.”
Although not mentioned by Perry, we also made it through the disgraceful and shameful Clinton years.
Rick Perry has started his presidential campaign by talking sense. So have other Republican candidates. Let us hope that the people of this country will do as necessary to avoid another Clinton administration. One Clinton in the White House was too many.
