We keep seeing promises in the news that gas prices are going to be the lowest in a long time. The only thing that doesn’t get printed is “unless you live in the St. Louis area”. Gas and oil prices have plummeted and yet the price for gas in St. Louis is higher than ever.
There is a glut of oil and gasoline and they are running out of places to store it. You would think that would translate into lower prices. Wholesale gasoline prices are over 50 cents lower than they have been all year and yet the price doesn’t come down.
Now stations are raising the price between grades to exact even more money from our pockets. Lower costs for gasoline should mean the difference between grades should be lower too, but they aren’t. It seems that gas companies are finding new excuses to gouge the consumer in new ways to keep that few extra cents in their pockets and not our own. How much is enough?
