Obama’s rush to place blame skips real issues

So far this year in Chicago, which has the strongest gun laws in the United States and where this president started his political career by being a community organizer, there have been 397 homicides. This is two and one-half times the homicides New York had which is a much larger city. Naturally he never mentioned any of this.

After the recent carnage at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, the president came out and immediately — before he knew who the gunman was or what his motives were — called for stronger gun laws. This president did not and could not name any gun law that would have stopped this shooting. What he did say was that he was going to politicize this shooting, and, as always, the NRA and the gun lobbyists were to blame.

He also failed to mention that the shooter asked the victims if they were Christians and when they admitted they were, he killed them. In his tirade, never once did he call for religious tolerance, as he would have had the shooter been a Muslim.

Why didn’t he politicize the shooting of the four Marines and one Navy recruiter who were killed by a Muslim extremist in Chattanooga? Thugs, drug dealers, and mentally disturbed people don’t obey gun laws. This shooting happened in a gun-free zone. How convenient for a shooter. If Obama really wants a gun-free America, when is he going to disarm the secret service which protects him?
