Letters to the Editor

Will it ever be enough? Our tax dollars go to subsidize the breaks big businesses get. They also go to a lot of people who have no desire to work. Then they go to pay political salaries.

The ones that need it the most — military and seniors — get shafted.

Now, Chicago has passed a huge property tax. Sure, once other greedy hands see what a money-maker it is for them, every county in Illinois will be affected.

It’s getting to the point that working, for most people, is financially not affordable or worth it.

Meanwhile the politicians dream more ways to take our money. The crisis Illinois has is a perfect example. When lottery winners can’t get paid, somebody’s getting their pockets filled.
