Consider all points of view

I have noticed and thank the Belleville News-Democrat for including more left leaning editorial cartoons. Educated voters must have an understanding of all points of view in order to cast informed votes.

I now wait, probably in vain, for those same readers who called Glenn McCoy racist to call some of those left leaning editorial cartoonists racists for their attacks on Dr. Ben Carson.

When one holds a strong objection to the point of view of an African-American politician and publicly points it out, they are not racist. They are, in reality, treating candidates and politicians the same regardless of race and are examples of real integration.

The next writer who calls right leaning Glenn McCoy or left leaning Kevin Siers racist for depicting their honest opinion by cartoons that target President Obama or Dr. Carson had better examine their own situation. For those who read the Bible, Matthew 7:5 is good advice for them. “You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.”
