Edward Nowak has given his opinion on climate change. He doesn’t like my analogy about “snake oil’ believers. He may be right. A better one would be the Catholic Church’s long denial of both Archimedes and Galileo that the earth revolves around the sun instead of their contrary belief. Regardless, it’s happening, and failure to agree with 175,000 climate and weather scientists leaves our grandchildren open to the consequences.
I won’t write on this again, because paraphrasing a man I admire, Physicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who commented on why he does not engage on those who deny scientific evidence, said: “I don’t engage them. A debate implies that you could win or lose. Science has to do with how good the data are. I’ve prioritized education so that you don’t have to attend a debate to learn what is true and what is not about this world.”
Just stand by, and I hope you live long enough to watch this play out before your very eyes. I do know that some parts of this world will become completely uninhabitable so prepare for them to come here, the most habitable hemisphere in the world.
