Not since Al Gore invented the Internet have I seen such an impressive array of accomplishments as letter writer Gene Robke provides for our current president. He paints a rather rosy picture of the president prevailing, steadfastly fighting for good over evil, against all odds.
As with all political factoids, none are an outright clean kill, and should come with more asterisks than major league baseball’s slugging statistics during the steroid era. The devil is in the details.
All this numerical eye candy aside, Robke needs to ask himself if he feels safer, more prosperous, and content today than he did say seven or eight years ago. That’s my friend is the real proof of the pudding.
